Word Count to Pages
These are working averages designers use, not laws. Chapter openings, images, worksheets and generous margins all push the real page count up without adding a single word, which is why a printed proof always beats an estimate.

- Standard nonfiction ebook10,000 to 30,000
- Novelette7,500 to 17,500
A page of straight prose holds roughly 250 to 300 words at normal type sizes, which answers most page-count questions on its own. Then design happens legitimately: chapter openings take part pages, images and worksheets take whole ones, and generous margins make a book easier to read. A well-designed 15,000-word book can honestly land near 80 pages.
What it cannot honestly do is land at 150, and readers write reviews about padding. Write to word counts, publish with page counts, and keep both defensible.
