Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 August 2026
This describes what Bookbind collects, why, and who else sees it. Short version: we store your account and your books so the product works, we send your prompts to AI providers to generate them, and we do not sell anything to anyone.
What we collect
- Your account. Email address and authentication details. We never see your password — sign-in is handled by our authentication provider.
- Your books. Everything you write or generate: the idea, titles, outlines, chapters, images, covers and settings.
- Files you upload. Photographs and source documents you add to a project.
- Payment records. Which book you bought and when. Card details go directly to our payment processor and never reach our servers.
Who we share it with
Only the providers needed to run the service, and only the data each one needs:
- AI providers (Google Gemini, OpenAI) — receive your prompts and project context in order to generate text and images.
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Our payment processor — handles the transaction and holds the card details we never see.
- Our email provider — delivers your finished package and account emails.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your books to train models. Note that AI providers operate their own retention policies for content sent through their APIs; we use their standard API terms, which for the providers above do not permit training on API content by default.
Photographs of people
Photo storybooks may contain images of identifiable people, which is sensitive by nature. Those files are stored privately and served only through short-lived signed links tied to your account. Only upload photographs you have the right to use, and do not upload images of children without a parent or guardian's permission.
How long we keep it
Projects stay until you delete them or close your account. Deleting a project removes it and its generated files. Closing your account removes your projects and files; we retain a minimal payment record where tax and accounting law requires it.
Keep your own copy of any finished book. We are not an archive, and we do not guarantee indefinite storage.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy. Email samabuzarifa@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK, EU or another region with data protection law, those rights apply to you by statute and this is how you exercise them.
Cookies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, which is why you are not asked to dismiss a consent banner.
Children
Bookbind is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will give notice in the app before it takes effect.
