When something goes wrong
My book is taking a long time
Long is normal. Stuck is rare. Here is how to tell.
How long it should take
- A short text book: a few minutes
- A long text book: ten to twenty minutes
- An illustrated book or comic: longer, because every page is drawn one at a time
The step called "checking your book"
This one takes the longest and worries people the most. Bookbind is reading every chapter, fixing the ones that fall short, then reading the whole book start to finish for repetition and loose ends.
The status line counts as it goes — "reading chapter 4 of 10" — so if the number is moving, it is working.
You can close the tab
Really. Shut your laptop, come back tomorrow. The book keeps going on our servers and every chapter is saved as it lands.
If it truly is stuck
If nothing has changed for more than about ten minutes, reload the page first. If it is still stuck after that, use Get support from the help menu — it sends us the page you were on so we can look at your exact book.
